Summer Holdout
🕑 Added 2024-09-23 04:25:30 +0000 UTCI’m happy I chose to do the Summer roadmap. It helped me get a lot done. But focusing on finishing things up, I feel a bit like I missed doing some specifically summer feeling things. So this was something started as a warm up & I decided to squeeze out one more proper summery image. With a shot across the bow of Autumn.
I know a lot of people jive better with fall. Halloween season. Pumpkin spice. For me, the cooler temperatures so you’re not sweating like an idiot all the time. But all that said, I really like her defiant spunk to the contrary. Besides ever since this image, I’ve had a thing about big sweaty girls enjoying ice cream.
Timelapse included, though the initial sketch was pulled from a doodle in another program, so it’s pretty much just the line art process on. You can view or download it underneath the following wall of text.

Speaking of the roadmap, I hit most of the goals & aimed to hit, ultimately doing a lot better than I anticipated myself doing if we’re being honest. Overall? I’m going to chalk it up as ‘Okay.’
Still, some items were simply just started & so part of them is still hanging & others I still owe entirely. So I tallied up what I have remaining over on twitter. The items remaining:

And if we want to be technical about it, two of the items that I started but overambitiously made sequences:

Realistically? My goal is to work hard towards finishing up the Spice Up Your Life Page by the end of the month. Most of the structure to the page is laid out & in good shape. Just have to draw in Katelyn proper (there’s just so much of her now).
Beyond that, the Bellflower chapter’s already half done, but dialogue heavy, which usually takes me time & a free peaceful space to do properly.
The berry story is also about as far along but a little chaotic to work on(long story).
And I’d even say there might be a slight chance I get in that last part of the Melanie sequence or maybe another Moira (though the PSL comic’s the priority).
But the animation? I started something & while I initially thought it would be easy, I don’t have the full knowledge on how to do it exactly the way I want. So I’m back-burnering that one for a little. That might be the one thing on here I feel is a blemish. For now. Sorry.
All that having been said, as I’ve stated, I feel drafting up a roadmap like this was pretty instrumental in me sticking to task & actually finishing a lot of the items I’ve started. Or at least helped progress the ball further towards the goal on things.
So I have started drafting up ANOTHER roadmap that will see me through the end of this year. I’ve added goals with both Bellflower & Spice Up Your Life, & depending on what things I still have hanging by the end of the month, some of the aforementioned items might get shoved onto that too. But I really want to see if there’s any projects of mine you would like to see. I have a guess on a couple. Can’t promise I might hit all of them, but it would be good to hear what you want to see all the same. So please feel free to let me know in the comments below.

So I can definitely look to add a few more things like that just in general, especially as we move past pumpkin season. I will say that the animation was intended to be a 'lighter than air' piece. I might move it to the following roadmap but like I said, there's a few things I've got to work out just how to do before I move forward on it the way I was looking to. There's an 'easy' way to do it, but it'll bother me. Thanks for reminding me though, I did want to take Rough Night & go through to make quick grammar/wording edits & merge it into one big post. After all, I started writing that when I was very sick & realized I missed some proof-reading LoL But genuinely, thanks for the words of encouragement! I've been really trying to be more disciplined with finishing things I've started. The problem is that I've just started so much LoL I'm just happy to hear you're enjoying it. This first roadmap was an experiment & the next I think should be 'paced' a little better. So we'll see. Thanks!

I like this almost inverse PSL reference in this work by her! (Almost seems like she’s a bit worried for some reason. ) From your description, I can’t come up with any good suggestions for the fall. Maybe whatever things you’re feeling to do! (Maybe even new things!) One general idea that does come to mind is something “gassy”, “inflation”, or “lighter than air”. Your “A Very Rough Night” short story was really good at the beginning of the year, encapsulating that same worry that PSL drinkers have in getting larger, only this time in floating away. Maybe this general area or some other transformation type. I don’t want you to feel overworked on so much PSL (but I also thinks it’s been great!). The amount of content you’ve put out in the last 30 days has been insane! So take this suggestion more as just a general idea for others if you need a break!

Actually that would've been a funnier angle you got me thinking about. Her upset by the PSL from the perspective that the Pumpkin spice is like a performance enhancing drug, where her gains are hard earned LoL
