Fang Yuan is pretty horrible, but that ties in more to what he does/personality and not how he looks.

Kobeni is pretty hated by the CSM fandom and famously lost in a popularity poll to her own car. She is hated because she is always freaking out and has occasionally been "selfish", such as quitting a very dangerous job and taking deals from the enemy. But as I said in my original post, that can be excused if you remember she has no idea she is in an anime and imagine how you would truly react in her shoes. She is basically bullied into being in life-or-death situations and thus is constantly having a nervous breakdown.
