I actually considered doing this chapter from a few different perspectives, but none of them let me play with prejudices and preconceptions as well as this one did, so these are the eyes you get to see these events from.
There was one character I wanted to fit into here so badly, but there was no room, so I just had to offscreen her suicide. Why did she commit suicide, especially considering who it was? That's the beauty of it. That question isn't answered.

Had to start slow. I needed to introduce Brutus as a character, after all, in order for the payoff to make sense. I was also hoping to trick you guys into thinking he was against Nero with the first half or so of the chapter, but I'm not sure how well I managed that.

Great chapter! When you first started writing it, it was a bit slow, so I was like "meh" and forgot about it until you finished now. Then, reading through it, I started laughing maniacally. Amazing chapter, amazing idea, and I loved how you solved problems here set up a few chapters ago. I love it!
