INSANE Wahoo Catch! Best Deep Sea Fishing Of Our Lives! (Pacific Crossing 5 of 8) S.V. Delos Ep. 420
🕑 Added 2023-07-10 22:21:15 +0000 UTCTa-Daaaaa! We did it! Thanks so much for your patience on this one, and anyways who couldn't use a little sumfin' sumfin' extra on a Monday :) So without further ado, we present part 5 of our Pacific Crossing. It's day 11, and we are creeping up on the halfway mark of the trip. It started off like any other day, until ole King Neptune decided to mark the occasion with something pretttttty dang special. We hook a MONSTER wahoo that puts the whole crew's fishing prowess to the test, leaving our fridges and freezers literally stuffed to the brim. It's been years since we landed a fish like this, and stoke levels on board were off the charts. Meanwhile, the swell was really starting to build throughout the day which made the job of preparing a fresh fish dinner pretty entertaining š
We hope everyone has a fantastic week, and thanks so much for coming along on the journey with us!

Thanks so much Dan, glad you enjoyed it :) Usually by about day 3 everyone gets pretty settled in, but as rougher seas or different wind angles come and go there's definitely always changes to how you function/deal with it all. Some days its fine and spirits are high, and sometimes you'd give anything to make it stop just for ten minutes š

I'm super stoked and happy that you prioritized you enjoyment and sailing over the video schedule. It is the light in yall's eyes and the smiles you share with all of us that makes us blessed to be a part of the Delos tribe. Keep living the dream, its what makes freedom worth fighting for.

Massive wahoo! Great catch! The movies just keep getting better and better.

What a wonderfully edited passage video. Had a real āhome movieā vibe going on. How do you get used to rollies like that for such a long period of time? Thatās fascinating to me.
Colleen Balch
I say it every time, but it is straight from my heart, THANK YOU for bringing us along. Whatta Wahoo! And, more than the rest, such a treat to see the friendship and your love of being out on the ocean.

Kazza, look up bottle bricking (https://www.greenmatters.com/p/how-to-bottle-brick). You can compact your plastic for disposal or use it as a building material if you have to. Really just a great way to compact and consolidate your plastics. All you need is one large plastic bottle and a stick.

Wahoo!!! (or Ono to the Hawaiian in us - Good To Eat! Onolischious!!) What a catch!. What a challenge to process such a big fish in rolling conditions. Good Job! I was a little dumbfounded about how canned butter was a surprise. I love Ghee. High smoke point, and all butter flavor.

Another winner. Thanks

I'm imagining bare chests behind that looong fish! 8 - ) But that's probably not likely on a scale of 1 to 10. Hehehe
