VIDEOS OF FLIP?

noLieBowtie

I cannot wait for you guys to finish this! Really cool to see the nuts & bolts of everything inside of the ship.

Coree

What will you use to coat the chain locker area and the area where the chain feeds through? Just thinking about dissimilar metals in that area.

Gary Suffern

Looking good Brian,Kazza, Sierra looking forward to seeing Delos 2.0 come to life👍🇺🇲

Gravytrain

Maybe we can make it for the splash party 😉

Rusty Comer

That is going to be one sexy sexy sailing ship!!! ⛵️

William Flower

I must say I am SO impressed with Sierra's videography skills! If that's her first outing with a camera, she will go far! Yayyy Sierra!

Clark Robins

Granted, I don't have the best hearing, but at the 9:02 mark, I thought you said you were standing in the (unintelligible to me) shower, and that section of hull between the frames doesn't look to have a window to me. Thanks for responding - I'm loving your new ride, guys.

Sailing SV Delos

We’ll work on that for ya!

Sailing SV Delos

Nope there definitely is one in the head on both sides.

don clay

From the front, it looks like the deck of a container ship. :)

Clark Robins

Very cool, guys. One thought: Unless I misunderstood, why no window (port light of whatever) in that Master Shower?

Myra Slepoy

The best part of the video is watching you both smile!!! 😃 Thanks for sharing!!!

George Deehan

I want Brian’s jacket

William Houck

Thank you for the teaser. Very interested to see which electric motor brand you are going to use. Since you said belt driven, I'm guessing Combi, but I'll wait for the propulsion vid to find out more.

Sailing SV Delos

I’m currently researching options but right now an initial coating of Pyrotek T35 with 50-60 mm of closed cell foam pinned in place. Liners will be either light marine ply or thermo formed plastic wrapped in foam backed vinyl. But open to suggestions if you know some tricks!

Mike Green

Was a great flip party. First thing that blew me away seeing delos 2.0 up close was its sheer size when it was held vertically up. Thank you guys for sharing your first steps inside your future home with us too, it's so amazing to see and envision it.

Sailing SV Delos

We’ll look into that 😉

Sailing SV Delos

Gonna dedicate an entire video to it! Until then here’s a quick description: The propulsion system is based upon a Parallel Electric Hybrid drive. One hull contains a Nanni N4.80 diesel engine with a belt driven 25KW electric motor. The other hull will be purely electric with a 25KW electric motor. This configuration, along with a unique mechanical clutch will allow us to run under diesel power for long range, diesel power + electric power (hybrid arrangement), or pure electric power. In addition both electric motors can act as regeneration units to replenish the batteries under sail. The clutch system allows us to disengage the propellor shaft and run the diesel engine coupled to the electric motor as a giant DC generator at anchor!

Sailing SV Delos

She would float! Even though 100% of the welds arent finished she is sealed up pretty good on the hull plates.

Sailing SV Delos

We’ll probably do a 2 part epoxy in the bilge to protect from things (metal bits) accidentally dropping down there and the sides and top will be painted with a product called Pyrotek T35 which is pretty cool.

Ali Todd

What an amazing aspect now. Thanks for hosting we loved meeting you guys and other fellow patrons. Excited for the next step.

Tim Heslip

Looking great!

Scott C. Wise

It was so amazing to see the inside skeleton of SVD II ! Thanks for the tour. : - )

Jeanne H. Mathieu

H u g e 😯😯😯you will need intercom…no more shouting at each other…you will not hear it📡📡📡

Michael Conway

She looks STRONG!

R. D. Lee

In the after flip segment you briefly mention the coating of the water tanks. is their any kind of plans to spray any kind of coating to protect the inside of the vessels raw aluminum from saltwater. corrosion?

R. D. Lee

It is so good to see such great progress being made on the Delos 2.0

Mark Gumprecht

Looks beautiful, and very strong! Did you use a wide lens? It looks much longer than 52 ft inside! I think Brian is going to love the big engine rooms, and having a real workshop!

Lance Daniels

Shop sounds like it will be very useful.

Lance Daniels

Thanks for posting and sharing. Nice camera work Karin.

Scott C. Wise

I'm wondering, would the hull, as it is now, float? Or are there welds that aren't complete on the lower section of the hull?

Andrea and Gisela

It’s all mother nature’s sun and wind 😂💪🏼🌎 ⛵️

William Flower

I found your Instagram page, and with it two videos of the FLIP !!! https://www.instagram.com/svdelos/

William Flower

A LOT of seam welding ahead! With that first look down the length of the hull I definitely got a '2001 Space Odyssey' vibe... it looks so cool!

William Houck

I want the details of your propulsion and power systems. So excited for you. This is truly going to be one of the best cruisers on the ocean that will push cruising into new directions.

Bill Dapp

How can I get one of your jackets? They are very cool. Not as cool as Delos 2.0, but close! LOL!

Michael Trautman

Emily so nice to meet you … Papasvdelos@gmail.com

Emily

Star Trek vibes are off the hook. Make it so number one! ☝️ weird to be in summer river kayaks and seeing ya’ll in long sleeves.

lowell mccormick

What will you insulate the hull with and what will the wall covering be?

Frank

WOW! It's happening and so exciting. Congratulations!

Bonne Mike

My GOD Man1! Unbelievable. Are you sure this is not a CG-ed reality .... and you two are Avatars? It appears you have twice the storage space then DELOS has? The hulls are so long ..... (she said) that you may need wiring for intercoms. I was going to ask you to make a shop somewhere in the hull for yourself ....... you answered that question. You deserve it (ac?). You two looked way too happy on the ship ..... finally upright. What a vision you guys had here. THanks for taking us on this journey. Keep 'em flyin
