Prepaid Visa/MC/AmEx for Patreon?
🕑 Added 2019-06-13 02:25:33 +0000 UTCDo you use a prepaid card (Visa, Mastercard, or American Express) for your Patreon membership?
I've had a couple of people ask, but I don't know where to point them.
If you use a prepaid card, where did you buy it? Can you reload it easily? Have you had any problems with Patreon's UK payment processor?

Looks like Patreon doesn't accept prepaid cards anymore. I suspect yours was grandfathered in because it was already in their system when they made the change. Greg (at the top of the comments) has a method that works for him that's similar. It bypasses the need to use your personal card. FWIW, Patreon's billing is fairly generc. It doesn't list the creators you support. It's just "Patreon" with a code, I think.
I've been using a pre-paid for years here, but suddenly this month it won't go through. Still working on it, but not sure what the answer will be.

Ugh. It looks like you're okay for now (you're here). Fingers crossed.
I am using MasterCard from Germany, it started ok, but then something came up and it doesnโt work in general, not just here, they are working on it and promised that it would work on the future. We just have to wait and see
You loaded a prepaid to your PayPal?
Littel late for the answer, but better late than never. I use Paypal and had no problems with any payments.

Thanks for all the feedback. Let me know if you find a prepaid card that works. I'll add it to my recommendations when someone inevitably has problems with the UK processor.
Like Greg I use PayPal. I've not had any problems with payments.
I am using them... but the only reason I have them is because of not being in the US. some companies that offer rewards in the form of amazon gift-cards provide pre-paid credit cards for international recipients instead. The ones I have come from a site called PrePaidDigitalSolutions, but it doesn't deal with individuals directly :(
My experience is similar to Joe's.
I used to but they started declining...
I used to. I now just use PayPal and load cash at Walmart every 6 months or so. The fee is cheaper than a prepaid card. And it has never been declined.
