Yeah, Ever After was one of the ones on my own recommendation list. Not only for the developed romance, (or, from a dressmaker's viewpoint, all the costuming eye candy) but I think it's the best version of Cinderella because of the way they handled the story in general. Definitely a must-see.

One of my high school friends "met" Andre the Giant shortly after her birth, in that he wanted to hold the baby....she showed me a picture of him holding a 5 pound baby in one hand. I swear to god her and his thumb were the same damn size. Mandy Patinkin (Inigo Montoya) said some years afterward that his portrayal of Inigo's fight with the 6 fingered man was so impactful because he was channeling all of his anger and grief over the loss of his own father, who had passed away a couple of weeks before. "I want my father back, you son of a bitch." STILL chokes me up. I had nightmares about the R.O.U.S for YEARS...I should add that to the illustration of my childhood, lol. R.O.U.S. stands for "Rodent of Unusual Size. My aunt took me to an SCA wedding once. SCA stands for Society of Creative Anachronism, which is the organization that puts on Renaissance Fairs, among other things. Anyway, the wedding party proceeded solemnly up the aisle, the bride and groom faced each other, and the officiant stepped forward, looked over the room, and then addressed us all: "MAWWIAGE. Mawwaige is what bwings togevva today. Mawwaige, that bwessed awwaingement. That dweem wiffin a dweem, and wuv. TWWOOOOoooOOOOOooo wuv--" and then the real bishop manhandled him off the stage while everyone cheered.
