Appreciate that Laurence! It comes from a place of love, but I do think people sorta expect a lot of first timers. I bet there were tons of kids and adults alike who were a bit fuzzy some lore and pronunciations etc, but were totally engaged and that's what we have here. Like, Morgan straight up called Blood Bending after S2x4. We are fully engaged in the world, we're just a bit sloppy but our enthusiasm is clearly there and that's the important thing about discovering a new thing to fall in love with! Also I don't think it comes across, but we shoot 4 episodes at a time usually so, if you think about it, This episode is literally only the 7th time we have sat down and EVER experienced this story or this world. So its not like we're doing it week to week, rewatching the episode in anticipation etc. Fans are the best part of this, but they definitely PROJECT themselves onto reactors in a weird way sometimes, prolly failing to remember a time when they were in the same position as us.

Guys i get that we're avid fans of the show, but let's not criticize something as simple as pronunciation. I don't want them to lose interest in this show because of toxic fans. I used to watch a girl react to Game of Thrones and she was really good at reacting and analyzing characters and themes. Unfortunately she stopped after season 1 because the GOT community was so mean and anal about little things. They wanted her to upload 4 episodes a week or criticized which characters she liked and disliked. Called her ugly and what not. Please don't let your toxicity ruin the show for these guys. They're great and I want them to finish and take it all in. After blindwave and normies i didn't think I'd enjoy seeing other reactors watching this show, but they are hilarious and really entertaining, Plus editing is boss too. So, please, just let them enjoy the show. It's one of the only good things coming out of this year.

Right on. Thank you for the explanation. I can assure you we are not M. Night Shymalan and are not producing a major motion picture adaptation of these characters. We are just a few nerds who are experiencing this for the first time. You are a dedicated fan, who's watched this x amount of times, read x amount of lore, comics, wikis, books. It's just a mistake and we will continue to make them, so get right with that or prepare for a frustrating watch. We've already shot all of S2 and went ahead by a lot to avoid spoilers (which was a good move cause people are wylin' in the comments and would have ruined a lot} But that gave way to a bit of a bubble and an echo chamber and we don't get the details and pronunciation just right. We do self-correct eventually but are still just people and will screw up again, it is not a malicious thing, it's a human one. I think for the trade of some of our sloppiness with the particulars we have a jaunty, emotionally engaged, weird and raunchy time with this series as we experience it, and I hope you'll continue to come along with us. I apologize for the mispronunciation but as Uncle EYE-ROH says "FAILURE IS ONLY THE OPPORTUNITY TO BEGIN AGAIN." Thanks for the input, but also allow us to be human.

Last thing, the pronunciation wouldn’t be a big deal if it weren’t for the fact that M Night Shymalan took a massive shit all over the Avatar franchise with his awful, awful movie and his pronunciations were the “proper” ones, so whenever you say “eeroh” or Ahng,” Avatar fans remember being spat on by Hollywood. Besides, these are fictional equivalents to Eastern cultures. Just say em like the show does.

Also, nobody suspects Toph because her family literally hid her existence from the world. Nobody knows who the Blind Bandit is because nobody outside of the Beifong family and their close associates know she even exists. Her parents wouldn’t know about Earth Rumble, they’re highborn super-aristocrats, and they believed Toph was a helpless blind girl who couldn’t Earthbend her way out of a wet cardboard box. The logic actually checks out.

I apologize on behalf of the Florida Nation. We aren’t all shitheads who won’t follow basic health precautions. Although I think saying we’re the worst offenders as a state is a bit of an unfair assertion. Great videos as usual guys! Toph is my second favorite character after Uncle Tea. I don't know whether you guys caught it or not, but Toph uses seismic sense to "see". Those little daredevil waves on the floor. She feels the vibrations in the earth and she can feel where everything is around that particular radius. She mentions its like seeing with her feet. That's why she had difficulty against aang because he's light on his feet and not really on the ground most of the time.

By the way no one recognizes Toph in the earth rumble because the two boys said the flying boar is the symbol of the Beifong family but that they don't have a daughter. So no one knows she even exists and obviously her parents aren't going to the matches to recognize her.

I've been waiting for you guys to get to this episode for a while. The way everyone says "The Storm" is the turning point of book one, I think "The Blind Bandit" is the turning point of book two. Lots of more story heavy episodes coming, and the ones that are more filler are still full of character development. There are so many episodes I'm pumped for you to see. I'm especially eager to see Morgan's reaction to episodes 17 and 18! Really love watching you guys react to this series. I started watching it as it first aired when I was 12 years old and it's been my absolute favorite show of all time since. Every time I rewatch I worry I built it up in my head and a little of the magic will be gone, but it just gets better and better. Makes me so happy seeing more people get into it :)

No worries i could have crafted my initial comment better but we both cant help how we feel depending on perspective haha. I would completely disregard those other reactors/reactors and their preconceptions including me 😂, but like I do maybe bring yourself back to being a young teen/child while watching this show, walk in their shoes like you would at 12 or 15 years old. The animation, the action, and the fantasy plot are great but they mean a lot less to me then the ultimate life lessons we learn in former and future episodes, the reason I got a tattoo of the "avatar cycle of the elements" is because of episode 2x9 but it really doesnt have anything to do with the avatar universe. It's a metaphor for how to live life and strive through adversity. See you on the next video Sean 💪
