Avatar: TLA S2x7 "Zuko Alone" FULL REACTION!
🕑 Added 2020-10-28 14:32:04 +0000 UTCHey hey Patrons!
Well consider us fucking blown away as this show just turned things up to 11!
HOLY FUCK what an amazing episode! "Zuko Alone," probably stands to be one ATLA's finest hours and we are resolutely engrossed by this amazing Zuzu, Azula and Ozai centered episode!
Is Zuko a true masochist and pay people to step on his balls?
Are Turtle Ducks THE cutest animal ever conceived by DiMartino and the gang?
And WHAT THE FUCK happened to Ursa!?!?! We have a lot to say and definitely watch until the end for one of my personal favorite Cabbage Merchant jokes of all time. Around the 38 Minute mark!

Follow the password-protected link to hang as we are enthralled by the amazing piece of TV!

We got even more spooky stuff dropping later today and tomorrow! New Shitty Movie Night watches and a full React to Train to Busan, one of the most intense Zombie horror films ever!

Is the next episode coming today or on Wednesday? :)
Jasmin
Favorite episode of mine!
Sean TankTop
oh yeah! We talked about it extensively I think the first or 2nd time we heard his voice and saw his credit! Amazing to put his stamp on TWO of the greatest animated shows of all time
Sean TankTop
Most ADULT shows don't even touch the care that this show puts in! It's just a flat out great piece of writing/TV kids or not!
Sean TankTop
I do it, specifically to illicit comments like this! I dunno man, I edit just about everything on the channel and am very busy with multiple things, I guess I just got excited to imbue Azula with being even more of a villain. PS I will never take notes.

Why does Sean keep forgetting how Zuko got his scar? I know episode 12 was a while ago but like, it was flashed back to at the beginning of this episode. Lol I still like Sean though. He just has to take notes maybe.
Andrew Knecht
The episodes are just going to keep getting better.

Even though it was a kid’s show, I like how the writers didn’t shy away from writing something that subtle on Zuko’s backstory. Most adults would have assumed kids are too dumb.
Ruma Risto
Zuko got the scar after he spoke out of turn in the war meeting (remember the Storm episode). He was 13 when that happened. In this episode's flashbacks he is like 11.
Sean TankTop
Azulon's guts needed to be shoveled out of his stomach and roasted in the throne room for that to be so.
Sean TankTop
oh yeah, we're still trying to be careful before we finish, but I MUST CHECK THAT OUT!
Sean TankTop
omg god right!? Made such an impression we used it for the damn password!!!
Rodrigo Borges
this episode is amazing but the thing i'm most excited for is you guys reaction to turtle ducks lol
Ever Borjas
I was a teen when this show was out and premiering. THere was actually a forum website dedicated to this show. Avatarspirit.net And you can still visit and look at all the theories and reactions people had as episodes premiered since there's a thread for each episode. Kind of cool. Like relics of the past. But for you guys it would still be spoilers. So maybe hold off on that

Remember what Zukos mom said about mama turtle duck, You dont mess with a mamas babies. Fire lord Azulon commanded that Ozais firstborn be killed just as Irohs had been. Thankfully Mama Ursa found out about it from questioning azula. If she hadnt, likely zuko would be dead. Instead ursa killed Azulon. Ozai seizes Power. #Not a kids show lol

Yeah I think that’s fair. The internet is awesome, case in point, like bringing all of us together, but sometimes it can muff up other things!
Andrew Nguyen
I certainly believe that ATLA benefitted from being released prior to when every viewer was an armchair writer on Twitter or Reddit, leaving the creators to stick to their original vision without outside noise. If they tried making this show just 5 years later, I don't think they would be as insulated from the backseat writing fans.
Sean TankTop
Ah nice!

This episode is truly incredible! Thanks for another great reaction!! Just for clarification, the flashbacks in this episode happen about 2 years before Zuko's fire duel with his dad.
Sean TankTop
Exactly!
Sean TankTop
No way they’re the Best and our friends!

when you get down to it, atla is HEAVY on classic story tropes, making it "easy" to predict. HOWEVER atla is a proof that story tropes can be done right when executed properly with care. And the show still leaves room for stuff you will never be able to predict.

Fuck the Normies!
Sean TankTop
Omg right?!
Sean TankTop
Oh yeah, I think we all had ticked it off the list last summer before it got super hyped for the Oscars! Still so cool it won Best Picture
Sean TankTop
Air horn, air horn Aiiiiiir hoooooorn!!!!
Sean TankTop
I think that’s a fair call!

Almost like Yin and Aang......aye OMG so lameeeeeeee!!! I love it >.<

Always enjoy the conversations you guys have. Feels good to listen to viewers who aren't passive and are familiar with storytelling tropes. I have to say I think this show is in the conversation for most ambitious children's cartoons in terms of firing on all cylinders (art, music, writing, acting) so thoroughly. Off the top of my head the only other two in contention I can think of are BTAS and Animaniacs
Sean TankTop
Thank ypu
Cody Taylor
I don't want to ruin as far as zukos mom is concerned so i wont say much until the season 3 finale

Another great reaction guys! Totally worth the subscription! Zuko alone took everyone by surprise, such a great episode..character centric episodes are always a welcome treat! Onward to the next, and again thank you for the quality content.

Can't wait to watch every ATLA reaction and your Train to Busan reaction! Have you guys seen parasite by bong joon ho? I feel like you might've already but if you haven't I'm sure many including myself would be greatly entertained by it lol! Bong joon ho does some great shit!
Sean TankTop
Ha! We’re Pronunciation Benders! Thanks I for the insight man!
Avi Chetri
And so the Jamie/Zuko comparison furthers in this episode..
Da Big Appa
The Korean word Appa for dad is more aw-pa but Avatar Appa can be interchangeable either way since he is not a Korean dad :) I think you guys can trust me on this one.
Sean TankTop
Right, and we understand. But we are clearly not the movie or those filmmakers and I think that people in intense fandoms need to relax. We mess up our I’s and As words cuase we’re midwesterners not cause we’re not engaged with the show. So people need to take some advice from Iroh and let go of the pain of the movies of the past and enjoy themselves despite our i perfections! Thanks for coming by and the kind words!
Mads Peter Hansen
Love you guys' reaction. I understand your conversation at the start about the name pronouncation and how i doesn't really matter, and i tend to agree with you. I think the reason why avatar fans gets really irked by it, is because of the live action movie, that manages to mispronounce pretty much every name in the entire series, even the word Avatar, and the names of the main character. That's just disrespectful.
