I always thought the owl had a really black-and-white view of intelligence and how to use knowledge. He called Sokka dumb because Sokka didn't have any books or literature on him (so he made something in seconds out of what little he did have on him), and we know Sokka is (usually) really intelligent. The owl also equates the Fire Nation using knowledge to commit genocide and take over the world with the Gaang using knowledge to stop the genocide and takeovers. He doesn't seem interested in the context. That doesn't mean they were right to lie and steal, of course. But I never liked that owl.

This isn't a spoiler but a fun fact, the Fire nation general that was in the Library was the then-General Zhao. He most likely found the knowledge of the Ocean Spirits, thus starting his obsession to becoming a legend by killing them.

Another great reaction! Did you guys notice that it was commander Zhao that was in the flashback at the library? This library is where he got the knowledge about the moon and ocean spirits which he used in the season 1 finale.

This is one of my favorite episodes in season 2, things really start to pick up from here and I can't wait to get to the next episode!
