Remember in the episode The Storm. None of the crew knew how Zuko got the scar until Iroh told them. Also he would seem like a refugee who was injured by a firebender. Like the girl he stole the ostrich horse from.

when i was 13 i told off the host of the Canadian morning show atla played on for pronouncing appa like that (and Toph like Toe-ph) when i met him at an anime convention. i was like "do you really like avatar?" and when he said ofc i was like "then how come you pronounce all of the names wrong????" LOOOL i apologized on Instagram a few years ago, he answered "don't worry about it, no one at work corrected me, thanks for helping." Now we live in the same Toronto neighbourhood, I've seen him at my local grocery store 🤷 his name is Ajay Fry ANYWAY LOOL it doesn't bother me as an adult 😂 + i know y'all are watching and enjoying and that's what matters! Happy Thanksgiving to all! It was very significant that Aang actually killed that insect creature in this episode. And you all are right on track with the idea that Aang and Zuko’s stories continue to have many parallels.

ATLA is great with storytelling without dialogue. The story-boarders and animators are amazing. This is the first time Toph sees Aang in the Avatar State. Up until this point she's only known silly fun carefree Aang. You can see the fear on her face when he enters the state. Emphasizing how terrifying the Avatar State really is. Its so insignificant in the mix of everything else, but nothing is half done with this show

just so you guys know, that wasn’t a lightning bolt Azula shot at Iroh. if that was lightning to Iroh’s heart, he would literally be dead right now. it was just a fireblast. Azula’s fire is blue. if you look at it, lightning and Azulas blue fire look very very different from each other. Also you can tell when it’s lightning because it’s takes a couple seconds to produce lighting, there’s a certain movement they do in order to produce lightning, it’s not something they can shoot out all willy nilly.
