Hope everyone has had a great holiday this week and gearing up for the New Year!
We're gearing up for some new stuff too! One of which is our new Patreon Exclusive Podcast:
BATMAN Vs EVERYONE
A monthly show where we pick the theme and you lovely Patrons pick a new cartoon to go against a Watchers in the Bar fave: Batman the Animated Series!
1) We choose the theme for the coming month's episode!
2) Y'all vote in a Patreon Exclusive poll on which show will go against B:TAS, and we pair each show's best suited episode given what theme we've chosen for the month!
3) We breakdown and debate which show communicated the chosen theme best on our podcast, which will be only be available via Patreon!
4) We pick the winner and then tease everyone of the next months theme!
And then we do it all over again!
So before we open up voting, we just wanna be upfront that we're ringing in the New Year with a TOP TIER throw down. We figured we would rock a killer opening fight card with the two toons reigning supreme in our hearts.
For the first episode in January of BvE we are having the Caped Crusader going toe to toe with the Aang Gang themselves with the theme of NEW BEGINNINGS.
So we pick the theme ( Valentines Day, New Beginnings, First Love, etc so forth) and YOU GUYS PICK THE TOONS! Then we match them with a correlating episode from each show that fits the theme and wallah.
Since we already got January out of the way help us pick for this coming February!
THE THEME IS VALENTINES DAY!
What cartoon should the World's Greatest Detective go against next!?!

This is just a way for us to revisit some classic new and old toons and see how they about how they stack up against classic BTAS, a fave of ours, from a thematic perspective and have a fun time either revisiting or discovering animated shows.
Listen to our Beetlebat pods if you want a keyhole into how this is gonna go. There’s no ranking or brackets or final four or anything like that. We just wanted to get y’all’s input on what shows to cover, sorry if there’s been some confusion! Hopefully the new description makes it clearer! Thanks!

With the context understood, I gotta recommend Justice League as a personal favorite, it's the best incarnation of the DC universe by almost any metric. However, 90s X-Men is also the second best animated series ever made, so I'm torn haha

Steven Universe is a relatively short series, filled with bits perfect for reaction videos. Rebecca Sugar took a lot of influence on contemporary media consumption, so it's perfect for social media platforms.

yeah thats the way i understood it tbh. also i ctually listened to all you guys beetlebat pods. its sad that beetlejuice did just shit the bed almost everytime and dissapointed yall but u know it was an interesing idea and im really behind this one now too.

Good luck to whatever show wins the crown (or whatever one might want to call it), but I'm happy I got to vote for Animaniacs. They were brilliant. And thus far, the 90s version seems to have more bite than the new one. I'm still willing to give the new one time, but man ... I mean, I've almost remembered every line in the original theme song. Because I'm obsessive that way.

I know it’s not listed, and not to be a pain in the ass, but I’m with Michelle that reacting to Gravity Falls would be awesome, it’s a kids show with a lot of adult humor hidden in there that I think would be pretty funny to hear you guys riff on. Are you planing on doing Legend of Korra after Avatar?

Are we only doing american cartoons is my question? If so Courage the cowardly dog is a fun time to look back on so is Hey Arnold, or Fairly Odd Parents. A new one is The Dragon Prince which is pretty good

im gonna throw my vote at steven universe (im sure it wont win but i hope yall cover it someday) and also as for toons i would like to see in future polls, she-ra and gravity falls come to mind.
