We got a GREAT episode with The Civil Wars Pt.2 up this week on our Legend of Korra reactions and holy shit are we having a great time with Mike back in the head writers chair!
We really love the family unpacking that we get into with Tenzin, Bumi & Kaya! And the family photo is EVERYTHING, minus the beard.
Is Varrick's Platypus-Bear cosplay a send up to Nicolas Cage's The Wicker Man!? Either way it's one of the funniest bits that have ever been in ATLA universe!
And the whole BOLIN & ESKA storyline is hilarious!

Season 2 improves in many ways later on, despite the plot suffering a bit for it. Lore-wise its very interesting- I'm really looking forward to your reaction to some of the coming episodes. And to Season 3, of course. The best Korra is after Season 2 IMO

You can say that Varrick is eccentric, but he's also a genius innovator. Might have missed it on the first watch but he basically invented the "movers"(movies) so he's got more things going for him than just being rich.

The family stuff in this season is the highlight for me. I always tear up when Bumi was talking to Aang’s statue, and the three siblings make up. It’s so cute to see that family photo. Glad y’all enjoying the show so far!

Yeh i feel like they should've been more clear about the difference b/t Jinora and Ikki with these episodes. Like maybe instead of having Ikki missing at the start of the previous episode, show a short scene of maybe Ikki trying to play with Milo but he's rude to her, and then Jinora says "leave me alone i have to go back to the statue room and research something in my books". Then Ikki goes missing bc she was hurt/excluded and we get that scene with the mom (Pema i think) that prompted the search for her with Tenzin, Kya, and Bumi. This way we know it's the eldest, Jinora, who has the spiritual prowess and witnessed the mystical happenings in the statue room, and Ikki is the hyperactive middle child who ran away.

I’m sure y’all know by now that Jinora (the older girl) is the one who saw the statue thing. Ikki running away distracted from that situation. I’m excited for some episodes in the near future but I liked this little two-parter as well.

yeah you guys confused ikki with jinora lol. for future reference jinora is the oldest, ikki is the middle child and meelo is the youngest (i mean theres also rohan but hes a babby so we dont thik that much about him), anyway, fun episode yall!
