Joey Wapelhorst

Also, the people bending in the opening credits are the last four avatars! in order too. Kyoshi, Roku, Aang, and Korra!

Garrett Storm

To be fair to Varric he is more than just the guy with money. He’s an idiot but he’s also extremely smart. If he was a dnd character he’d be a Chaotic Dumbass Artificer haha

Sneaky Poptart

I love Aubrey Plaza as Ezka, she reminds me a lot of April in Parks and Recreation. Just Deadpan "in control" type of character.

Star Kid

People dog on this season, but don’t let that color your impressions. Yes, there are many valid criticisms, but it’s still very enjoyable to watch in spite of them

Sky Sirak

Can we skip the other episodes and just watch those two, then? We can all just pretend that the rest of this Season never happened. Nobody would miss it, and they'll never know that it even happened...please lmao

Gio

And miss two of the best episodes in the entire series, definitely worth a watch. I think people need to be more forgiving of some of the story short telling since Nickelodeon basically forced them to write 1 season at a time.

I can't find the reaction to episode 12 of season 1

Sky Sirak

*In a very, very tiny voice* Can...can we just...skip Season 2, please...? ._.

Mads Peter Hansen

Korra relapsing and not learning from the past season, is one of the unfortunate realities of this entire series, and probably one of the main reasons some people doesn't hold this series in that high of a regard. She kind of learns the same lesson every season, which can get kind of irritating.

Jacob Shaw

So I will say even though season 2 did a couple things that everyone hated, I love how it shows more water tribe culture/politics and how water is clearly the best element out of the four. Shit, water bending gives you the ability to manipulate water, ice, blood, create steam, heal wounds and pacify spirits.

Neil Prospect

The mover Varrick showed off was a reference to the first film ever: https://youtu.be/IEqccPhsqgA

Neil Prospect

Varrick is definitely Howard Hughes

Neil Prospect

I always thought Korra's attitude in this makes so much more sense if you just imagine she didn't get her bending back at the end of season 1. I think they originally had plans for a season 2 that they scrapped when they found out it was only going to be one season and when they suddenly were told they were having a second season, they basically just went along with those original plans.

Emi

I think something to note is that the legend of Korra was meant to be a one season show, that's why they ended it and wrapped everything up so perfectly. But then Nick ordered a second season, and they had to change studios. That also might be why they decided for Korra to kind of revert back to her season 1 self to start a new chapter in the series.

Avi Chetri

Korra reminds me of my mother. Emotional charged and self-driven to a goal. I do believe those personality types are hard to change, her reset is clearly to create a multi-season growth, but it's not uncommon IRL, so I'm not so annoyed by it.

Avi Chetri

When you see an angry "good boi" in public.

Avi Chetri

Aubrey doing what she does best, being socially awkward.

Avi Chetri

Korra was a child actor.

Sharrod Wolf

She’s also been kept away from others since she was a young kid. had no friends & all of her social interactions was with adults, sometimes u have to experience things for yourself especially failure because how else would u know what not to do & then learn from it

Brimmy

Varrick is amazing ya'll will come to love the ever loving shit out of him also this is the least liked season in the fandom and u'll find out why much later @.@

TrixieTurner

Honestly I actually get where Korra is coming from in this episode, it'd be hard to find out your dad and mentor had been lying to you your whole life about something major and not have an intense reaction.

Zen Reacts

No rush just good to see feedback being listened to

Sean TankTop

Weeeeeird! We’ll look into this

Sean TankTop

Sean TankTop

Zen Reacts

Yeah its not working on the vimeo app just the browser which sucks cause it cuts off a huge part of the screen

rickie woodson

ok so this is the season where bolin becomes the side piece and i marry varrick #korrahusband the charismatic "bad boy" always get me. DAMN THEM!

Sean Silence

Bolin will remain the best lol and Verrick is a personal favorite,, even if he can be sleezy lol. As for Korra, I think she suffers from a bit of the same problem as Bakugo from My Hero Academia. She has known she's the Avatar since she was basically a baby and that may have, involuntarily, given her some arrogance. The Avatar isn't supposed to even be TOLD until they are 16, let alone start bending other elements. She should have grown up learning waterbending and spirituality, unaware that she is the Avatar. She can definitely be unlikable sometimes, but I feel like that's intentional on the part of the writers. I'm excited to see what you guys think of the rest of the season :)

Crystalrose

Varrick is a fan favorite for sure, I think you guys are going to love him!! 🥰

Walter

No, bad writing would be to explain and resolve everything before episodes end. They are writing a season long story arc. One of the ways they distinguish Korra from Aang is that her journey is about self discovery. She's a complicated character - a flawed character and that's what ultimately makes her interesting. People are complicated and they don't do the right things all the time.

Baron Salt

I feel like korra is tired of being lied to by men she clearly trusts. She just found out that the reason she was kept in literal isolation was not because of the previous avatar but from her father and Tenzin not wanting to export her to the outside world until they felt she was ready. Mind you, she was already 16 when she snuck away so who knows how long she would have been kept away from the world.

Phoenix End

Korra is still so unformed in many ways, this show focuses on the idea of the Avatar as more than just a powerful fighting machine (which was the focus in ATLA). This season already sets up some complex political landscapes within the Water Tribes that someone like Korra is going to have trouble navigating

Phoenix End

I mean there IS context for Korra's behaviour and actions but y'all were talking over a good chunk of it during the episode. The rift with Tenzin was bound to happen at some point, Korra is very hyperfocused on being strong while Tenzin is still somewhat stubborn in his ways of trying to teach what he thinks is appropriate without meeting Korra where shes at as a student, which is what most great teachers are able to do. Tenzin has some growth to do himself.

frnknstndrgqn

I don't know if anyone else said it and I apologize if someone did, nickelodeon dicked around and told the creators they just wanted a mini series and only 1 season. Then it was a big hit so they asked them for a season 2 and said THAT was going to be the last season I think the only one they didn't do this with is the 3rd.

Briana J

I'm glad you guys had a good break and are back feeling refreshed. I might be in the minority but I really enjoyed season 2 a lot. I'm sure people have their issues with it but I really enjoyed the storyline with Tenzin and his siblings as well as Asami and Bolin with Varrick.

GYRECK GAMING

I GOT THS. Korra did not regress, the context is just very poorly spelled out. Others have pointed out pieces of this, but there are parts here I've never heard anyone else bring up. In season 1 they spent a lot of time spelling out her character and situation, she's an intensely bold, outgoing, hotheaded character (very opposite to Aang), but she'd spent her entire life essentially being put in a cage and not being allowed to make any decisions for herself, which is literally the worst thing you can do to someone with that personality type. End of season 1 comes along and she makes huge strides in gaining power, saves the city, and takes some huge steps toward being a fully realized Avatar.... ....so now, everyone will finally start treating her different, right ? .........right ? Here we are six months later, she's still living like a prisoner, being talked to like a child and not being given any new freedom or decision making ability over her own life, in spite of the fact that she's literally an adult and had accomplished some major things. She didn't regress, NO ONE else moved forward and she's boiling over on what's happening. ....and NOW, in this very episode, she finds out that she'd been lied to her whole life and that her father and Tenzin specifically had taken it upon themselves to put these controls on her. In her position, I'd be WAY more pissed at Tenzin and her dad than she's even being. Know what I'm sayin ?

rickie woodson

so what browser is folks using? my firefox wont let me watch any of the reactions, not just for this but for cobra kai. says it get s "bad request" "your browser sent a request that this server could not understand". rickie woodson

Štěpán Komárek

I bought this early access just because I wanna see you watching second half of this season and season 3 - cant wait! Great reacts, great discussions, nice theories, love ya. ;-)

Sean TankTop

Lololol! We’ll just remember to never look you directly in the eye Justin to protect our souls and we’ll be good! 😘

Lorenzo Baxter

I know others have said it in the comments, but its not for no reason. There's a real good reason for her to be pissed. And she's still a teenager. People in general don't just learn something after the first lesson and never make mistakes. That's a very unrealistic expectation. She's flawed, like every other person on the planet.

Sean TankTop

Ah did some bad math. Thanks

Justin

I’m a twin and I’m offended by your pw lmfao nah I Fncking love it

William Timmins

I've thought a lot about regression and... really, people don't grow linearly. It takes time and lots of slips for people to really learn to be fundamentally different people. Korra is, fundamentally, a poorly considered hothead but willing to open up to people after things have totally gone pear-shaped. That's a deep character trait.

Andrew W

"We're BACK, exactly when we said we'd be (looking at you non-post readers clogging up the DMs)" Love your reactions to Korra (and ATLA before it), and have absolutely zero problem with y'all taking a few well-deserved weeks off from it, but the S1 finale post still says "We'll resume with the spooky Spirit Zone of S2 on October 21st!", so . . . yeah. (Sorry if I'm just not picking up on some joke/sarcasm here somewhere.) Regardless, really psyched to see you guys starting on the rocky road that is S2! You guys consistently have some of the most entertaining reaction videos around, and great discussions besides.

G

I kinda feel like they regressed Korra’s character in this season imo. Not that it’s a bad thing, but she had gone through growth in Season 1 and now it feels they put a hard reset on her for plot purposes. Now, I’m all ACAB but I don’t really care that they made Mako a policeman since it’s fiction at the end of it and plus you all seemed to enjoy Lin’s character in Book 1 when she is chief of police, I don’t see what’s different here. That’s more on the writers copganda than the characters themselves. Spoiler: He becomes more of a cool detective soon anyway as Mako talks about being promoted in this episode. Varrick, the character that everyone enjoys and is the reason people love Season 2 so much. He’s a fun and interesting character! Great reaction.

Tenuous Pterodactyl

Yeah, I didn't like how Korra treated Tenzin or how she kept snapping at Mako. Even though Mako in this season is kind of hard to deal with. I think it was a strange choice to kind of regress her character and make her so brash and bratty with everyone. But having said that it would be very frustrating to learn you had been locked away your whole life and then constantly told what you can and can't do. There are a lot of strange character beats this season, many of which I'm not really a fan of. Having said that, though, this season introduces some fun characters and interesting concepts that carry on later into the show. It's just these first couple of episodes can be a little hard to get through. As someone else mentioned, Korra's mental state could make sense but it's something you have to grasp on your own and they don't do a good job of showing it, but it does get better as the season progresses.

William Timmins

I love Aubrey Plaza hahahah.

William Timmins

I do agree that it's obnoxious, but also, as they say in the reaction... it totally tracks for f'in teenagers. Bad decisions are the norm.

Katelyn

I love Varrick!

Warpdrive

Korra's letting her new-found airbending and Avatar State get to her head.

Mathies

Guys, Tenzin litterally tried talking to the spirit at the end. it's a very airnomad way of doing things. didn't work here, though

Faeginn

Yeah this episode pissed me off when I saw it the first time, 100% agree that the writers regressed her back to the start of S1. She acts like a brat towards Tenzin for no reason, when he's literally taught her the value of patience

Chelle

I don’t think twins are technically identical if they’re boy and girl, but they do still have the terrify factor going for them I’ll give you that 😂

Michelle

Finally best girl is back!!!

Mathies

I think Korra definitely was a bit rude to Tenzin but it's understandable considering they kept information from her. Also he thought somehow he could be the only mentor Korra ever needed, when every avatar had multiple. neither of them were really right here. EDIT: people always gloss over the fact that Tenzin and Tonraq had been lying to her for years. They told her Aang told them to keep her locked up training in a compound, now it turns out it was them all a long.

Nevik

The show doesn't do the best job of providing the clear context for Korra's emotion early in the season. There are arguably good reasons for her emotional state, but the show takes for granted that it needs to show those things rather than have them as subtext. Considering how sheltered she was and how controlling they've been towards her, Korra's reactions can make sense. The show doesn't properly show how restrictive her life has been, though. It's all subtext you have to infer, and not everyone infers it. But its clear that was the intention.

Hunter Tober-McGivern
