Cool tidbit: When Meelo threw the plate at Bumi to prove he can airbend is the same thing King Bumi did in ATLA to Aang with a chicken leg to prove he was the Avatar. Just a role reversal of a character named Bumi and a bald air monk kid lol

agreed, but I think it primarily comes from the last season when he's a bit older. personally I like him less in the last season and I think its unfortunate that thats the last memory people are left of him

- I love the "show, don't tell" storytelling in this episode. The leadup of Bumi and Daw getting airbending and showing one barely being able to do it and the other not having any control over it, and then we get to Zaheer. Immediately obvious just how incredibly dangerous he must be from the conditions they have him contained in alone, and just trying to image what he must have been like to end up there as a non-bender. We're also shown that he's intelligent and philosophical, already knowledgeable about airbender history and somehow has a solid handle on his new powers that that the others struggled to use at all. This was my favorite introduction of a new and interesting character ! Also, can we talk about how solidly the animation was able to portray the sheer mass of that falling top of the building that Korra caught during the vine attack ? Nicely done ! | : D

Exactly. I haven't seen their reaction yet, but man she did grow even after meeting Avatar Wan. She was calmer, tried to reason with Unalaq, apologized to Tenzin, and man the scene with Tenzin about her tough job and the heaps of shit society throws at her. She isnt a damn custodian to fix every little issue. Even if she was, she isnt a goddess so sometimes she'll fail. It's a tough job but all she can do is her best. It's why I love Korras character even when she's been a bratty bitch 😅

Also I can't remember if it's ever confirmed on the show but Zaheer was a talented martial artist before he got his bending abilities. He's no air bending master or anything but being a good fighter helps.
