I haven't read the manga but I wonder if maybe that's the reason S3P1 is my least favourite arc of the series? I need to read the manga at some point

One thing about this season (particularly the first half) is that they did A LOT of streamlining compared to the manga. Many people were turned off, ostensibly because there weren't as many gory titan scenes. As a response, the anime cut things out, sped some things up, and combined certain tings as well (guided by Isayama himself, I heard). You guys will love this season though because there are a lot more questions answered.

I have a head canon that the reason the only thing we see of the guy that was touching Armin in appropriately is his legs behind a crate is because what Mikasa did to his upper body can't be shown on screen :D

dont get too hung up on that stuff with the animals and dinosaurs and the hearts. its more off asymbolic thing like, "all living creatures have a heart". okay there is kind of a reason for it, but it is WAY, WAY down the line. im talking, almost end of show down the line. So I wont spoilt it but yeah just, ignore that. Again, its really more for symbolism and aesthetic.
