Next episode is, for me, the best episode in the series thus far.

Did people really give you shit for not remembering Vex's "dragon sense"? I haven't seen a single reactor remember that when season 2 comes along so its no big deal. As for Scanlan, yes he's used that spell before, but same as Vex, he hasnt done it for a while (1x7). What you really can remember about him is that Bards are a jack of all trades, master of none class. So he can do all sorts of stuff but he's not usually the best at it. He can only "polymorph" into animals he can see, for a short time. But Keyleth can "wild shape" into any animal she wants for hours if necessary.

Someone from the PRL folks probably already clarified it, but the dragonfly thing Scanlan did was the same spell he used in 1x7 to turn into a triceratops while burning down Rory McCann's house. The spell is accessible to all bards and called "Polymorph" and allows you to take on the form of a creature you can see as you are casting it (basically exactly like you guys assumed). That of course makes the spell pretty situational, which is why we haven't seen or heard about it since 1x7
