It feels fairly realistic in the way two people can get trapped in a cycle because they just don't have the hard conversation. I like how this episode shows that Jett and Lisa have been in their own way trapped in the same cycle for 7 years. Jett felt his need and dependence for her and failed to realize he was not letting her live so she left. However they both are trapped in the same cycle Jett wanting to protect her and Lisa while making her own decisions becomes reliant on another person and tries to run from her problems i.e the police and talking to Jett about why she left.
