We are back with the emotional, plot-packed, occasionally confounding but really satisfying conclusion to this 4th chapter in the True Detective saga!
Are Navarro and Danvers really not taking a safety line on some of these walks?
Jodie and Kali really bring it and give us the most emotionally satisfying performances of the season!
And the whole indigenous femme JUSTICE SQUAD is kinda amazing, but could have been alluded to just a teensy bit more!
All in all a STRONG finish, even if they beat us over the head with the "tImE iS a fLaT cIrClE", it was still thrilling and rewarding!

I enjoyed the psychosis/psychic/otherworldly aspects of this episode and episodes before. The rolling orange, the one eyed bear. The one eyed bear stuffed animal that showed up in Danver's mind as a real polar bear. I think she imagined the one eyed polar bear because it was her son's stuffed animal. I loved the whole aspect where it questioned what death was. And Jodie Foster gave one of the greatest performances of her career in this one...several times. She gave such a great performance that I teared up at least twice. But it will be overshadowed. I think this episode went too far for some people. I see a lot of hate online. But as a David Lynch lover...I loved they pushed it so far.

When the women were walking into the house I was like "Are they doing the Captain America Winter Soldier elevator scene right now?" In my brain I could hear Jodie Foster say "Before we get started, does anyone want to get out?"

Angel and the Dreiss's (spelling sorry) should watch the Netflix movie Nimona. Its up for an Oscar this year. Its such a good movie and I can't stress enough how much I think y'all would love it

I read that Issa Lopez originally pitched Night Country as a stand alone horror series and it was HBO that countered with the show as a true detective series. I believe Pizzalatto had said he was done with TD so HBO needed someone new to step in. I think that speaks to some of the surfacey connections to season 1. But I still enjoyed the series overall and would be down for more from Lopez and the lead actresses.

Of COURSE we want to see Angel watch season 1 of True Detective.

There were some weird choices here and there but I really liked the ending overall. I feel like I need to let it settle in my brain for like a week to really judge what I saw. After it was over I felt like I woke up from a weird nightmare. I've never really felt like that before.
