Perhaps everyone has their budget for what they're willing to pay for stories and authors. Perhaps this gives them a right to stop paying if they don't like the story lines or author. That's fine. As for me, at the high level I subscribe with, its because of the quality of the author's writing of which many have already written of how well he writes. And with that, I trust the author to continue to develop a story line and its arcs. It seems to me that with great authors like Antactica77 and Don Silver, for example, readers can't wait for the next installment of a series and they complain about the wait on Discord. And because the writing has different directions and arcs in which the story can go, during the writing delay we as readers fantasize and forecast and hope that the next installment may go the way we imagine. Sometimes it doesn't. And when it does, or at least comes close, we pat ourselves on the back as being so clever. But that's the joy and excitement we get as readers of great authors. So complaining that 'this isn't what I paid for' is a cheap shot on any one of many installments in a lengthy series, and such objections certainly could be written in more constructive terms as suggestions rather than threats to unsubscribe. Does the author really think "oh goodness I'm gonna lose $20 if I don't write what so-and-so says!"? Trust the author, or just unsubscribe and move on.

yeah you have all the right to take the story to the direction you want it to, but that´s not what I subbed for either, it was a great run from chapters 1 to 9 and I hope we can someday revisit that kind of story with kim. So, what would you like to write regarding the alternate timeline?
