Rachel made a copy and that's what Aiden watched. She passed it on and that's why she was skipped. I'm pretty sure Richard Morgan said his wife wasn't supposed to have a child was because they failed so many times and then when they finally adopted, it went so incredibly wrong that he figured it wasn't meant to be. This film is one of the rare cases where the American remake is better (in my opinion).

I saw this in the theater with my sister and cousin. Not even 10 seconds after the credits rolled, my cousin got a phone call from his mom and FREAKED OUT until he saw who it was from, haha. Thanks for bringing that memory to the forefront!

I definitely also confused the two between the Ring and the Grudge before I got around to seeing both (although only the American versions). Once I got to them though, there was no mistaking the two. I liked the Ring and thought it was spooky, but the Grudge has a different style that scared me much more and really got under my skin. I had to take breaks while watching it because it was way more intense, and I’m not a stranger to horror. The recent movie Smile achieved a similar effect on me.
