The idea of rest still exists without eliminations too. Even moreso probably, since they (in terms of kayfabe) would need to use all their energy to incapacitate every other team in order to get a clean pin. Maybe the rest part would be may more prevalent if announcers noted it frequently and the wrestlers worked around it, similar to how they do in the rumble when guys hang out under the ropes.

This might be peak TNA. Perc Angle, the ROH guys can all still go at the highest level, Kong is rocking, Victoria is always sweet, the crowd is into everything. Surely they dont IMMEDIATELY put an end to all of this on purpose to appease a 60 year old man.

I feel making multi-team matches elimination would mitigate a lot of the issues people have with them. It would explain why a team would be fine with standing on the apron (resting up), but also explain the reasoning behind tagging in an opposing team (gets you rest while making the other team work).

This is random but I literally had to pause the video in the middle of the Tara match when the guys were talking about the booty poppin to write, the two saddest kayfabe moments for me as a wrestling fan were when the APA broke up and when Victoria(Tara) turned heel in WWE and she stopped shaking her ass before she did the standing moonsault to her opponents.
