They did get some samples yes. But recreating things like the springs has proved to be a bitch.

Thanks for the chapter! It sounds like they took out a good chunk of their population. Hopefully they at least left some outposts or a colony to monitor them. It would be less than ideal to have a few hundred ships show up in the future when they’re not on a war footing 😬 Also given how much they fought, did they get any working models of their weapons? All those sea battles they must have captured some number of ships.
