Painting as NPC's for the Traveller RPG, looking at a couple model agnostic games, and hoping for the Proxy War release (which was supposed to be previewed over the last 2 weeks).

I bet this is an unexpected answer... I use them with Pulp Alley and it's awesome! Pulp Alley is marketed as a tabletop skirmish game for playing old vintage serials (think Flash Gordon or Indiana Jones), but it works with EVERY genre beautifully. Fun, fast-playing rules, character-focused, adjustable scale, miniatures (and setting!) agnostic, with built-in story elements instead of every game just being a deathmatch. It can even be played solo. I love it, and I use it for games about cyberpunk, vampire hunters, Star Wars, and classic fantasy. I can't recommend it enough.

I have Reality's Edge but as I haven't painted anything yet, I have not played it yet. I like the rules because they provide a deep and immersive universe for gameplay. The only nit I have is that hits/wounds are not resolved until the end of the turn.

Personally, I'm playing Warsurge skirmishes, a game that you can download from the site and allows you to play any type of wargame, with whatever miniatures you want. these days the kickstarter of the printed book should start.

The main one I play is Exploit Zero which is fun and fast paced as well as not needing huge numbers of minis. I also play Cyberpunk Red and these are great for characters and NPCs. They also work well for Stargrave crews. I'm also considering getting Reality's Edge as an alternative cyberpunk skirmish game.
