It's definitely not something I'd want, but I guess if the other option is getting mobbed by 'fans' then what else can they do right

I think the thing is the concept of Kpop boy bands is just so foreign and different for mainstream America - so honestly I don't feel any disrespect when American media fails to understand or misreports on BTS. I mean it could be better, but just think about how confused these people must be getting first exposed to kpop haha

I don't blame her though - I had trouble telling apart BTS members for a year lol

Thank god America does it the normal way for other events. Despite being in Canada for a while and being pretty westernized, I would say some of the stuff I saw on this trip was a culture shock :) -Danny

I didn't mind being mistaken but David was offended lol

Seems bizarre that they would be so disorganized like that for such a big event. It's not like its the first ever or something. They should know by now what to do. I did notice BTS being surrounded like that and honestly it made me sad. I've seen some fancams where they are trying to enjoy a performance but they are basically looking up at a screen because their view is unintentionally blocked by body guards.

Yeah, it's going to be a while before BTS is a household name in North America -- when they can just say "BTS", not "South Korean boy band BTS" then we will know they have arrived. There was a segment about BTS on a show called CBS Sunday Morning, which is basically a soft current events show for old white people, and they pretty much failed to capture BTS's unique charm. ~~ I suspect David's take is more accurate than we might want to think: I bet there are plenty of Americans who wouldn't consider that there might be more than 7 famous Koreans. ~~ I'm curious about the choice to have so much extra security for BTS compared to what the other acts had. I wonder what was going on there. ~~ And finally, Danny your hair looks great. Thank goodness the monchhichi hair phase has passed.

Re:American recognition of BTS. I flew up to Chicago from Alabama for the BTS concerts. Had to explain what the band is to everybody. Also my sister came with me to both concerts (π). She canβt tell them apart....βThey look just the sameβ....sigh... Anyway... she was impressed by the performances., ππ»ππ»

Ha! I have no idea why I found it adorable that David liked Taylor Swift as country. Romeo and Juliet is one of my favorite songs. And they we way you described the A-E, F-H deal is how MOST events go. No clue why they would do things that way. I wonder if it was because so many security risks there that night, and how many issues we have had in the US lately. And I can't actually remember a time that security guards were there for something like that, but given the things BTS has dealt with when it comes to crazy fans they can't be too careful.

Thanks for the update. ππ

That is the exact view I have in all my concerts. Thanks for the video. I donβt think all US events are as disorganized as this was. And yeah Danny I wouldnβt be surprised if some people thought you were BTS. Good to hear you had a good time. π
