All three of my kids have natively fluent English & Chinese. This is my 6th year living abroad and let's just say my Chinese is...lacking. Unlike English, Chinese is a tonal language, which means, the emphasis you put on the sound changes the meaning of the word. In my day to day life, most people can understand what I'm trying to say contextually even though I have garbage tones, but I wanted to be as accurate as possible for the Chinese New Year special, so I asked my daughter, JeeShing to help with my pronunciation.
