Basically, though I watch no anime (Since DB super ended)so I would never think to use that term. I would say like Helga Pataki, but in modern parlance I would consider him a tsundere.

I actually think D.T would be meaner to a potential crush in the way some little boys pick on girls they like. I just think flattery goes a long way with D.T. hence, his nice demeanor towards her. But, like anyfiction it is always up to interpretation and your daughter's take is a fair read.
