I'd originally not wanted to make a formal Patreon post about this, but: I'm going to, just so we're all on the same page and it's not a Discord-exclusive discussion. You can consider this a heads-up to the future heads-up that: I'm gonna be tweaking my tier offerings before Q3 begins. (Meaning, after June concludes, stuff will change.)
I haven't 100% settled on how yet. The impetus for this change is that I'm trying to avoid a situation where I burn out and become unable to provide content due to it, which is a real risk at my current creation rate. Between comms and Patreon, I've averaged about ~7 files a month for the last 8 (?) and that's... a crazy amount lmao. In wordcount alone, I've written 2 books worth of hypnosis scripts at this point - and recorded them all. Volume-wise, even I as a crazy fucking too-mucher can acknowledge, something has to change.
But at the same time, I don't wanna shoot myself in the foot by giving people less reason to pay for different tiers, as I am somewhat dependent on Patreon right now as a whole... I'm basically trying to figure out a balance between being able to make a sustainable amount of content, and also maintain a symmetrical tier system that is fair to us both (Patron and Creator) pricewise, so it's gonna take some noodling. The main thing that sucks in hypnospace is that we really don't have good "models" to look towards for business inspiration a lot of the time. So this Patreon backend, tiering, etc feels very trial-and-error.
Boring but relevant added math consideration: And even besides "how much do I want to put out, and charge for that, and how much has that value assessment changed over time as my quality goes up..." I also need to factor in "past catalogue value". The more time passes, the more stuff you get access to per tier; and in theory that means each release is depreciating in value, even as my skill/production improve. 😵💫 There's just a lot of plates to spin and consider, and I'm hesitant to change much because I Do Not Want People To Feel Taken Advantage Of!
But 4 hypnotic releases a month is a LOT (and as time passes, my work is only getting better and more sophisticated/complicated) so 🥲 Once upon a time, making a file was a very different process to now; I'd write it, give it some edits, record, slap a binaural, and go. Now it's MUCH more involved, much headier, more technique-rich; and I think it's made the Hypnosis better, but it does mean I have to take these shifts into consideration when assessing what I can do.
Trying to puzzle it all out. I'll try to make a better Post, with more clarity, in a few weeks.

To clarify - I've been listening to files a long time (over a decade), and the ones who seem able to put stuff out consistently balance between free and pay (I also work in an industry that needs to be hyoervigilant about burnout). Committing to just 2-4 exclusive paid files a month while letting yourself have laxer goals for a quantity of free stuff can take a lot of the pressure off. Whether or not someone pays tends to have more to do with their financial situation versus value (anyone who listens to files regularly can appreciate a quality recording vs some of the crap out there).

Avis only puts out 2 exclusives a month, and people seem happy with that.
