With the one from the guy from the sopranos, the ad should have played out with him beating the pizza like it was, but then when the sauce flicks him in the face he tastes it and goes "holy shit that tastes just like mama made it" then the camera switches to the pizza, that ad got ruined when he said it tasted like shit

This honestly might have been a case where it would have been better to sell to the type of judge. Kenny's strategy was brilliant in that it leveraged internet virality and meme culture, it was ahead of its time. But he was selling to these specific ad execs, who were probably more traditional and had no experience or understanding of how ideas spread on the internet.

I think Spenny deserved this win. It was a competition for best commercial, and so it had to be a commercial that appeals to the widest audience. Unfortunately Kenny went the route he normally does (offensive humour) which isn't brand friendly. That wouldn't be the best commercial. Which goes to show that Kenny should have made at least one commercial that wasn't that way and I bet it would have blown Spenny's out of the lukewarm water.
