This pretty much confirms that the ceiling plant and Jellmock Seaweed are 'fair weather' allies. The Jellmock really wants Rika, and was willing to blow up the tunnel to keep the ceiling plant from getting her. The shot looks intentional, even if it did collapse the entrance to their communication circle in the process.

No, different spot. Panel 4 shows the cavern floor and such - Safi was pulled through the small tunnels for a bit before reaching that point.

By that you mean if there was no explosion and Rika had made it into the hole her head would have popped up in panel 4? Like that's the spot that Safi met the electric tentacle

It should be noted that panel 4 is all the way back in the cavern room - the end of the tunnel that starts down below.

So, Ceiling plant had a big elaborate plan to hit Rika with a rock. I'm starting to think that despite Ceiling plants' books and meticulous notes, Seaweed plant is just a lot smarter, if not a bit carpe diem about the whole process of catching food
