🕑 Added 2023-01-07 03:34:11 +0000 UTCDebbie Stabenow started out in 1975 on the Board of Commissioners in a small Michigan county, then served in the state House of Representatives, then in the Michigan Senate, then in the U.S. House of Representatives, and since 2001 she’s been a U.S. Senator. Yesterday she announced that she’s gonna retire in January 2025, in her 50th year of doing this grueling stressful government work. In any normal country, the whole Congress would give her a standing ovation, thank her for her service, treat her like a war hero for sacrificing her life to be at the beck and call of American citizens. Instead, here’s Mike Berg, spokesman for the Republican Party: “This could be the first of many Democrats who decide to retire rather than lose.” Fifty years, Mike! Fifty fucking years.

LOL times like this I want to call you "Uncle Bob" after my late friend from Fangoria. He used to staunchly defend conservative Democrats-- that was what he liked. The more authoritarian the better. But ask anyone at Starlog magazines from those days, and they'll agree with me-- Bob could NOT deal with ANY authority figure in real life LOL! re: this retring old lady you like-- the only thing I have to say to ANY politician, left, right or center, after they're FINALLY done stealing from the American people for FIFTY YEARS OF CRIMINALITY is this "Don't let the door hit your designer pants on the way out." In OTHER countries they do WHAT? In other countries they have royalty, I don't want to start deifying the criminals running America, and I don't get why you would want that either, no matter what party affiliation you've got.
I think all these decisions should be resolved with the use of Thunderdome. It would get more people involved in politics if it was going to end in a cage match. Everyone will need their own entry music.
