I am ever patient........I'd rather wait for a proper, prefect thing than rush and make do with a bodge job....take your time and don't worry about how long it takes to get video's up, we all know your a perfectionist and are happy to wait, I know I am. Your video's just wouldn't feel or look so great if rushed

... regarding what takes the longest, its 50/50 editing/shooting. The machining is generally the quickest part, but setting up the shot and lighting it can take quite a bit of time. Its surprisingly difficult sometimes to get a clean shot of what I'm making.

Take all the time you need. The wider audience - myself included - will learn much more with a well-crafted video. Out of curiosity Chris, which do you spend more time on: recording the source material (e.g. turning, milling, etc) or editing/splicing the resulting film?

Hey Tom, work has been getting in the way of the videos lately, hence the delay. Hoping to get some solid shop time this weekend.

Hey Paul, this design is the classic hand design made famous by AL Breguet. It is such a profoundly simple design, I love it - one circle slightly offset within another, the point fashioned to look like a birds beak. The initial layout was done using SW and a paper template, but for something this small, the final finishing is essentially freehand.

Chris, Nice work -- as always. So how did you decide in the proportions? Like you said the dimensions are fiddly. Even adding a bevel is a risk as it could change the look. Once you have the design, fabricating them precisely is a shop challenge to be sure but I am also interested in the design process. Did you make test pieces? Was the design inspired by other classic clocks? Or was this a SolidWorks "one and done" exercise?
