Hey Scott, will definitely do that in the future, thanks for being patient! I'm currently still running on one camera, although I have been considering getting a second camera for some time. I recently had a glitch on the camera where it wouldn't power up properly - the whole day came to a screeching halt, reminding me that I am a bit vulnerable in this area! Cheers mate :)

Yes, shims on the jaws. I use this plumbers flashing from my local hardware store. Very gently - the workpiece is being pushed into a new position in the chuck jaws, so I tend to take it nice and slow to avoid any nasty surprises! Cheers Matt :)

I'm pretty sure those are just aluminum shims in between the work piece and the jaws.

Chris ... I love the changes that you appear to have made to your lathe. Looks like the jaws of that chuck have been polished and 'melted'? to some extent. I am always amazed at the neatness and cleanliness of your work area, but this rises to new heights.

being a complete and utter novice, these kind of things help *loads*. I used the bump centering trick recently on an awkward part, although my 'tool' was quite a bit more ghetto than this ;-) might be a nice thing to make for myself though, I have a bunch of bearings kicking around. Thanks Chris!
