Yes definitely will do one on engraving soon Ben - I'm back onto the AM build sections that are not paper related for the next few weeks, and depending on how much progress I make, I might then shift to a TGT on engraving or maybe the plating setup. re the paper, yes the wait is very frustrating. It feels a bit like being back in college waiting for exam results!

Good to see you're alive and kicking! I've not seen much on engraving tools before (haven't researched), and i'm just amazed at how that thing works. If you're looking for a small video to smash out, I'm sure there is a bunch of other people like me interested in the workings of said engraving tool, and maybe some techniques and understanding of the limits and what you can do with it. Good luck with the waiting on the paper, I hear it can be frustrating but eventually rewarding :-D

Thank you mate! A slightly more accurate descriptor might be 'Horological English Scroll', but the word horological is a bit long and I felt it would take up too much room on the thumbnail! Basically I've been learning the style that was used on the high end English watches and chronometers from late 17th to early 19thC

Chris, I have quite a few examples of 19th century English scroll engraving on rifles and this looks quite a bit different than what I'm used to seeing. The scrolls are much larger and you have more depth to the design. That being said, your engraving looks incredible! Well done!

Reckon I can help with that Brian - I had zero drawing experience before starting on the engraving path, but have picked up some shortcuts that I think everyone can use. Mostly its just learning a set of rules, and then putting in the practice time. I will pack it all into a video as soon as I can get to it - Cheers :)

That bit of metal is one of the most beautiful artifacts I have ever seen. I'm a big fan of 19th century architecture and aesthetics, the scrollwork, gothic and baroque ornamentation that was on lots of tools and buildings and machines in that period is breathtaking in its flourishing form and the sheer amount of human effort that goes into making it.
