View from the control room during first Saturday show
🕑 Added 2024-08-21 12:18:45 +0000 UTCThe Indian act again, because it's fairly colourful. I don't have many cues to do during the first show on a Saturday, as it is done in daylight. (The show is best seen in the later, darker show.)
I popped through to the production control room to make a short video.
The outer three circles of dancers are actually the highland dancers in Indian costumes to make the act bigger.
There are five shows left before the three-day loadout of all our equipment.

It was, as I recall, a sailor getting his hand cought, losing a finger or two. Nasty business.

It's been tipping it down with strong winds in Hamilton tonight, I'd imagine Edinburgh is much the same. My work have a teacher and a few students going to tomorrow nights show. The tickets were I prize they won from a music competition. I hope the weather holds up for them, but It's not looking good tough. They are attending the 9:30 pm show.

Comms to all the crew departments.

The gun carriage thing was stopped due to HSE nonsense.

Yeah it's a bit stormy today.

I bet the view from the control room the last few nights has been a much wetter affair. I really feel for all the acts, the crews and the audience when the weather is miserable.

Some of the acts run on timecode. But not all.
Big Clive
No.

I remember the old style tattoo where they did the gun carriage race. Not so exciting nowadays, just a music and dance festival now.

Best seat in the house. I dont know why people pay to see the Tattoo in the day. You dont get to see very much of the lighting effects. 2x👍

I hope so. 👍

What is the colourful piece of equipment in the bottom of the shot?

Is that a SMPTE clock to the right? When the acts are running, are the cues manually triggered, or are they all automatic?

Any hunky soldiers?
