Novel mosquito fume generator

They heat an oil with a tiny percentage of a synthetic pyrethrin in it, to create a vapour that is detected by mosquitos, and causes them to flee the area.
This is one of the most stylish versions, with the "night light" feature also being good for indicating the remaining fluid level.
Having tested a few of the units that arrived, they vary wildly in heating power, and therefore output and liquid usage.

My understanding of the "repellant" DEET, is that it doesn't repel the mosquitos, but instead it confuses their ability to smell the stuff (CO2?) that leads them to something theyd like to bite. It effectively blinds them. Perhaps that's what this stuff does???

Very cool and seemingly well made. Thanks Big Clive.

I forgot about the properties of chrysanthemums as a fly repellent. I seem to remember that marigolds have a bug repellent as well, but more useful for protecting fruit and vegetables crops.
