okay so even if it is some kind of issue with the "dotcom" bit at the end right, surely youtube in their infinite wisdom shouldn't change a channel name that's bigger than a certain threshold, without even like talking about it first with you? Some kind of detailed explanation and a date before making changes and talking through it? It's not like you're a small channel, or someone just trying to quickly capitalise off of confusion (like someone calling themselves b1gclivedotcom or something lookielikey... Like you're known on the platform as bigclivedotcom and you have been for years at this point. I honestly question if they have any shred of competence left.

They don't even have a simple check to verify that the handle matches the ACTUAL CHANNEL name before changing it to something that could legitimately be and imposter? Just had a look for how to change username on YouTube. Looks like you can change it in YouTube Studio. This is not the same as change channel name.

Something is wrong as someone somewhere is making complaints to YouTube! If this was an issue with user accounts Google would send out a general warning through all it's channels to creators & developers. As naming conventions would appreciate developing as I used a name close to someone. Problem is to find this spiteful person!!!! Let's all do some detective work!
