🕑 Added 2024-12-12 18:54:28 +0000 UTCA faulty time switch that had an unusual issue where the display was showing all 8's and the behaviour was erratic.

I would be tempted to put a second diode inline ahead of the cell, so the voltage across the cell and circuitry would be limited to 1.5V or so, relying less on the cell to cap the voltage. Any reason not to?

I did do a reset on it, but it was definitely a voltage issue.

That's a reasonable idea. I'm just kinda used to operating the controls with my index finger.

Instead of cutting off the tip of the index finger I would cut off the tip of the pinky. Less chance of touching something live.
