Wine powered video and another test
🕑 Added 2025-03-09 19:07:58 +0000 UTCAnother test of the different recording device. I've noticed a few audio pops which are either breath pops or auto gain pops. I'll experiment further. I've changed the audio to mono to better suit the recording area.
This is a useful video if you want to use these LED drivers, since they are programmable.
In the video's description I've provided links to three of the main driver configuration apps for Philips, Osram and Tridonic.

I think the sound and picture are fine. Very interesting. Thanks Big Clive. Kind of amazing really with NFC programable stuff going on. l am guessing that if it fails, total replacement of the power supply is what it takes. Maybe if they're not over driven and potted well to prevent moisture damage they'll be fine? Not sure.

I bought some 2W GU9 lamps and they were fine for while. Then UKPN (our local DNO) decided to reduce the mains voltage by 10% because one or two customers moaned about their EV chargers cutting out in the Summer (PV feed-in was boosting voltage above 260V). Now it goes down as low as 205V and the Philips bulbs can't cope. I've told UKPN, they even fitted a monitor for a week but I've heard zero back from them apart from untraceable phone calls. They know they'll be in for penalty payments. Of course what they need to do is upgrade the damp string they have buried in the pavements. Or perhaps the council will send them some voltage readings from their smart lighting at the end of the spur / ring so they can adjust the taps a bit more sensibly. 10% !!

New mono audio is great, Clive. No bottom end EQ needed anymore! Top is slightly ess-y for me but no biggie.

In the case of lighting products, the Philips brand is licensed to Signify (that name appeared in the app).

picture looks good, however sound is awful. horrendously over boosted treble. sound in your recent videos has been very good and this new device is a step backwards in terms of sound.

You are correct that most consumer and commercial Philips products are sold by other manufacturers using the brand name under license. However there still is a Philips corporation who now focus on medical oriented products and services.

No such company as Philips, which were dissolved in the 90s and sold off as a multi brand. However their latest 4.9 watt, dim to warm GU10 Lamp is killing it out there
