Unexpectedly complex mini flashlight
🕑 Added 2025-03-11 22:54:29 +0000 UTCI was expecting the circuitry in this little rechargeable LED torch to be very simple. Just charge control and some resistors for the LED. But in reality it is much more complex, with a mystery component that has no obvious purpose.

It wasn't threaded with the indents. It seemed to be pressed in.

Hey Clive great video as usual but I am wondering the bit you dremeled open was it internally threaded and the bit you remove have dents you can use some tweezers or needle nose pliers to spin it out. The lens section of bigger flashlights often are built this way.

I saw on Texas Instruments' YT channel yesterday they have an 8 pin microcontroller that is in a package---- Package Descriptor: DSBGA (YCJ) 8 pins SIze: 1.3776 mm² 1.6mm x 0.861mm https://www.ti.com/product/MSPM0C1104 This video made me think of that!
