Patreon has always been a bit buggy. You may need to cancel and then resubscribe. But $10 or $20 is ample for the full year.

I have submitted a bug report with steps to reproduce and screenshots. This stood out to be quite difficult because the system was throwing me out whilst I was filling out the form. I had to start over with a new form. Very weird.

From NL I tried this, however when I click "Switch to annual" Patreon switches me from "monthly" to "monthly". Odd, I have the feeling they still have a bug to solve.

I tried to change it, but when I go under membership it still says Big Clive $10 per month Next charge date: Apr 1, 2025 Plus applicable taxes. Can anyone post a screenshot of how it looks in their profile? I don't think it changed a thing.

I've got an original founders account. It actually restricts what I can do with Patreon, but I'm too scared to rock the boat, given their quirky system.

There is a discount of about 10% if paid annually. It does work out better for me in the sense that there is just one payment processor fee versus the 12 fees of a monthly payment.

Thanks Clive. If anyone's wondering how to switch at the same tier via the web page, go to the Membership tab above, hover over the box under Your Membership and click the pencil con that appears. Then on the next page it should give the option to 'switch to annual'.

Hmmm, not sure I switched correctly. I was giving $3/month for $36 a year from me. Annual amount was listed at $28ish, which I upped to $35, hoping that Clive will get a bit more per month? than he was getting previously. Clive, is there a way you can corroborate that? Thanks.

I'm pretty sure those who switched to renewing annual payments using iPhones have now committed to paying apple every year. Clive will lose a lot of money as a result. See if you can cancel for refund, or at very least, disable auto renewal and do it right next year.

iPhone users should not use the patreon app to make payments. Apple will take 30% of the money. This is something apple recently forced on all money transaction apps. (At least in the US.) Workaround is to use the patreon web site when making, scheduling, or adjusting payment transactions.

Avoid doing any money transactions on the iPhone patreon app. Apple will take 30% of the money, on top of whatever paypal or your credit card take. This applies to every iPhone app that takes payments. You can get around this by using the patreon web page rather than the app (just to make the payment--you can use the app otherwise.)

I've gone over to the annual method (does sound a bit odd but I guess that's ok) I notice mine goes through paypal rather than a bank ; does that reduce the actual amount?

I am not using an iPhone, but on my laptop I had this issue. You have to make sure that all the payment details are filled in before the "Subscribe" button becomes active.

Switched from an iPhone. Not sure what Apple will take away. There were some discussions last year around the payments for Patreon.

For anyone struggling on a computer (I can't help with mobile apps), go to the Membership tab, then under your tier option click "Join" and you will get to the page inviting you to choose monthly or annual subscription, keeping the same tier.

I can't work out how to change to annual without downgrading to lower tier? Edit, I cancelled my monthly subscription and then rejoined as annual one. I assume this works out better overall financially for you big Clive? Otherwise I feel like I've now done you a disservice?

I can’t figure out how to change to yearly. When I toggle the switch, the button at the bottom is greyed out. This is in the app on iPhone. Anyone managed to figure it out?
