Basically a towel - cable tied to removable sticky hooks attached in front of the hard grey plastic panel behind the bench. Let me know if it has a detectable effect on the audio.

Over the years I have bought quite a few of the (full size) fly zappers. The circutry is more or less identical, and always with, what looks as, random HV capacitors. They HV is normally around 500 - 800 V. I once made a (very) small Tesla coil using the HV with a very small spark gap (less than 0.5mm because of the rather low "trigger" voltage. Was still able to create 20mm sparks. Lets call is a micro Tesla Coil.

Some time ago I had to test and set the voltage on a number of Geiger counters. The voltage had to be accurately set to 1000 volts DC, but like this circuit, it is high impedance, actually a lot higher impedance than this circuit. I came up with a very simple 10:1 and 100:1 voltage divider probe for use only on 10 M ohm impedance multi meters. The probes were high enough impedance not to load the circuit under test. It was simply string of high value resistors with the multi meter across the ground connection and first resistor in the chain. I am sure you understand the idea and how easy it is to make a high voltage multi meter probe for measuring the voltage on these zappers. Of course NOT to be used on high voltage mains!!!! Keith W
