Listen, Uncle King Julien XII, I don't know what it is about him, he's just 😘 like a refined wine that too often hits all my kinks!
Now funny enough I didn't really fall for him until season three, in the Jungle Games episode, yes we got an absolute banger of an episode in season two with Uncle's Feartopia and - all the good stuff with Julien too very good, but it wasn't until I saw this face -
that I was like GOOD GODDAMN, I love that scene so much! The animation for it is what really got me, the way he breathes, how his eyes are visibly looking Julien over while looking down at him, just all the implications of it! It's these little scenes that have me thinking Uncle really doesn't want to kill Julien, not all the time XD
This episode is a good example of Uncle just wanting the throne and doing it in a non-lethal way, it's fun and you see a lot of fun eye contact and interactions. I mean, look at this -
Before I loved this scene just because he gives Sage a little spank but he fucking waits until Julien is looking, like the look kills me! That side eye and smile it makes me so red! He's also pretending to have suspenders and I find that adorable X3
This episode also has this-
Like fuck me! I already had the headcanon that Julien himself has a lot of his Uncle's traits, he was raised by him so it makes sense and it's been touched on in the show, but I love seeing physical similarities like this! It's so childish and adorable! Uncle is just as much fun as Julien in the show, how is he not a favorite character?
It's like, Julien is a fun party king, he exudes a sex appeal I have never been able to understand but his allure for me is his confidence and, to an extent, his self love. It's like, I want that and I enjoy seeing him revel in it, but with Uncle, wow he- he has this sort of domination and control to him. We see that in the very first episode, he uses fear to keep control over the kingdom, he makes actual sacrifices to the Gods, and yeah was willing to let his Nephew die but like, the more the show went on and we learned about him the more I loved him XD
He has control, he loves control! Through fear and death, he did keep the kingdom safe, he kept Julien safe, and even made sure Julien's childhood and school life was good. It confuses me a little, which is why I still believe he holds love for him, it's just a bit twisted X3
I like all that about him, he can be just as silly as Julien but has this edge to him and I like that, he represents what I really wanted, control and confidence. He's got this dominating personality and it comes out the most around Julien, they balance each other out!
And as the series goes on, no matter what Uncle does Julien forgives him, yeah he gets upset lol who wouldn't right, but in the end he pardons Uncle and let's him go off with that indri lemur lady whos name I forget.
They have this connection and balance, it makes me feel.
It let's me explore what I'm feeling and deal with my issues and trauma, literally!
I tried to explain it to a friend recently, Kowalski/Julien kept me going during an incredibly terrible time, but as I left that part of my life it sort of soured that ship. A lot of my memories where tied to it, with Julien I heavily project onto him, so he can change with how I change, but Kowalski- a lot of those memories are tied to the bad.
Which makes it hard to explain to anyone who hates how I've clung to Uncle.
Uncle and All Hail King Julien came around as I was leaving, it wasn't tethered to anything related to my old life or former partner. Not like PoM, this was something that they wanted nothing to do with and I built confidence through it. I love both characters, isn't that so funny, two King Juliens lol
Ah, I'm starting to bring myself down, sorry sorry, it's what happens I guess.
Because I've been through a lot of terrible things and you'd think that a dominating and controlling character shouldn't be something I want or want to explore sexually, especially with the character I project onto but I think that's the point.
It gives me control. Complete control in a safe way to explore myself because both these characters know what they want, they're confident, both have referred to themselves as sexy (they really have and I love it) and they work so well together.
Let me end this before I get to outside of myself 😅
Uncle isn't a "handsome" character, he's portrayed as a villain first episode, and tries to de-throne/usurp/kill his nephew for like, six seasons, but in between all that he's funny and silly, with a dominating side to him that makes me weak. 💖

Hope everyone had fun with my rambles, I could talk about Julien and these characters forever, they're ingrained in my soul at this point but that's okay with me.

It's completely understandable why you feel this way, Tsu. ^^ We all grow attached to our favorite characters and even project ourselves onto them. When things change in our lives, our interests and feelings change too, especially with said characters and how we feel they relate to certain things and events. Everyone experiences these sorts of things differently, but trust me, you're definitely not the only one that goes through basing your attachment on characters with people you've met in your life. I am very glad it's been therapeutic for you in helping you move things along and making you feel amazing feels. :D That being said, I think your analysis of these two is pretty spot-on! I never did stop to notice how Julien and Uncle were similar in the way they act about certain things and, to an extent, even have similar mannerisms. I also think it's reasonable to understand that although Uncle does try to kill Julien, that certain feelings for him are somewhat retained despite his actions. It's just the type of mindset he's in and the way he's always ran things: Through fear, sacrifices, and maybe even assassinations (the Julien family seems rather deep in that). So even though there's still apart of him that still covets Julien, it is rather obscured and 'twisters', as you put in, in how he openly portrays himself. :3 Glad to see you're still having fun and continuing being strong and moving forward, as always, Tsu. Keep being you, doing what you love, and staying bright :D
