Got some IRL work this month so I didn't do all I wanted to do with this pack but not gonna complain the economic situation here its worst every day so Im lucky that Im getting new customers.
There is 19 rooms "done" in the mod right now wich is a lot if we talk about textures but is not so much if we talk about the game it self off course nothing is final right now, even the stuff that is "done" will be revisited in the future.
All the rooms from the begining of the game till the alley of the arcade/library/hospital are mostly done, there is some missing texture that have a crude upscaled in place till they are done.
There is a couple of known problems: there is a couple of textures that for some reason the emulator cant dump so I coudnt replace yet (like the wall between the benches were the 2 first lickers appear). Besides that the enemy/npc updated textures dont load for some reason, they show up sometimes but its totally random I still need to talk with the emulator people to see if there is a solution, I really want to make some unique zombies for this game so we can rid of the RE2 rehashes.
What do you need?
- Retroarch
- Bettle PSX HW core
- RE Survivor NTSC-U SLUS-01087 image (bin & cue)
Instalation:
- Extract the folder from the .rar next to the image files of the game.
- Rename the texture reaplacement folder to match the name of your image, always keeping the "-texture-replacements" right next to the name with no space in between.
Your folder should look something like this:

- Run Retroarch
- Run the game. Be sure to be using the Bettle PSX HW core
- Open the Retroarch menu when the game is running.
- Go to options.
- Set Internal GPU Resolution to X4 or X8 depending of your pc power.
- Set Track textures and Replace Texture to ON.
- Go back to the main Retroarch menu of the game and Close content.
- Run the game one more time and the pack should work from now on
Thats it, you dont need anything else in the future you just need to update the -texture-replacements folder and the mod will be updated.
FAQ
- Does the pack supports pal version? Did not try but as every game generates diferent names for the texture dumps so the pack most probably will not work as is. It will probably work if you use the NTSC-U patched with some other language.
- Can I play with a wiimote? no as far as I know, Duckstation supports that but the pack is not compatible with that emu right now.
- Why is called HQ and not HD pack? I dont think that old games need a 4k textures, this is merely a try to update the look but keeping the original charm.
- So the resolution of the texture is still relatively small but big enough (x4 time the og ones) to give some new detail to the game.

Next update besides more rooms will include mor UI and item stuff as Im creating new render for them.
As always thank you all for your support!
