Of course he should be a little more eager to make this old woman spill the beans so he can resume his chase of the silver, but his dramatic sensibilities quite overcrow his good sense from time to time.That does wrap up the chapter on a bit of a cruel tease, but such is serialized fiction.
Chapter 14 is wild! I really love it, and I hope, hope, hope you guys will love it too. It has some themes in it that are really important to me and important to the comic as a whole. Though it ostensibly revolves around a military mission and getting lost in some monster-infested caverns, at its heart is a story of losing someone you love to influences you can't control - and maybe never even knew were a threat. We'll learn exactly who Roger Foi-Hellick (the Queen's "husband") is, we'll develop an appreciation for who Lemuel Adelier is, and we'll feel the last hot gasp of Duane Adelier trying to hang on to his faith in glorious Alderode. With lots of shit-talking soldiers and a pig fight and gore and a musical number thrown in there for flavour.

Your skills are probably well past the point where it's just so good that most people think, "she definitely hears this all the time, I need to say something else more unique than that!" Little do some know how much an artist appreciates it every time. (I forget too sometimes, whoops.)

Yeah, I think this is the ideal spot to step away from the politics and the supernatural nonsense and tell a pretty straightforward story about Duane and his brother. It'll help flesh them both out, and also move the contemporary plot ahead since we'll see just what Roger Foi-Hellick and the Queen are up to as well. It should be fun! :D

I'm about super ready for exactly what this chapter is gonna be! After all this riveting political intrigue and gripping character development, I think it's a great time to settle down for a bit and have some fun worldbuilding flashbacking with a dollop of tragedy! (Also I love subterranean aesthetics and will be paying close attention to those themes, which is one of my biggest jams when consuming a story.) And it sounds like Duane's finally gonna learn him some proper manners around war and the Other (don't answer that I'll find out)? That's a nice bonus.
