I like the framing of Duane watching her plod away to the drone of "on and on and on." That'll be you one day, blondie: broken, sad, but pressing on for the sake of those who need you.
That's the end of Shaensigin in Unsounded though, at least in the present day. Toldja she lived! :U

Most people don't want to die, but some of the oldest Senet beasts in this story seem to really embody the exhaustion and sorrow that true immortality would likely carry.
Hopefully the few survivors can learn from mommy shaensegin??? TT_TT

Duane's been telling the story in Continental to his audience in Lizardtown. In reality, the Aldish soldiers spoke Tainish, and the Crescians, Roger, Vampire, the rebels, lizards, and Shaensigin all spoke Continental. The Inak tongue's being crushed out of existence by humans; half of these poor two-toes probably don't speak it at all anymore, they're too young.

I've been wondering... what language have they all been speaking during those scenes? I know it's more convenient to the story that Shaensigin and the inaks haven't reverted to some old lizard tongue that was passed down in secret along with other remnants of their fate and culture, but yeah. <: )
