Some interesting developments, I think. Originally this was much more explicit but I found the nudity and flying liquids distracting when I thumbnailed it out, so I dialled it back. It's not about the pleasure so much as letting go; as Duane allowing himself to have someone to cling to, and a moment's peace.
But if Duane takes refuge in the past it requires unlearning a lot of the lessons that have changed him and widened his perspective since then. And the current situation in the shrine may not respond well to Duane at his most Aldish.

Now I really don't trust her. Anyone seeking to limit (much needed) personal growth is a negative. Duane is only a tool to her.

Man, that's some hypocrisy there with Lady I. Encouraging Duane to ignore his inner turmoil and stop growing so that he can be what "much relies on," but then also talking about how she wants him to be his best self. I wonder whether she is herself fully aware of that disconnect.
