Keeping it real though, this is the kind of stuff I love the best. Little emotional breakthroughs, little conversations between kids trying to figure things out. I know some comic makers trudge through conversations in order to get to the fightin' - the "good stuff." But I trudge through action scenes and world-building in order to get to the conversations :)
Anyway, next scene's with Duane and it's fairly violent and disturbing. His head is on wrong after his night with Ilganyag and his self-indulgent story-telling. Unlike Sette, he's keen to get on with The Plot, even if he has to shed some blood.

...and we readers know that Sette's been kicked around hard by life, but Jivi doesn't know that. He just knows what he's been through.
I get where Jivi is coming from. Being the "bigger person" is HARD, even for adults.
