I always like to show how casual, accepted, and assumed the lizards' place in the world is by everyone though. On the next page Matty isn't as rude as Sette, but he's lounging on the floor not helping out either. It's pretty easy to go with the flow and let other people do the work.

I love the image of all those indolent children lying around waiting to be served, as is their due. It is very evocative of some unfortunate periods in American history.

Ashley, you've done a really good job of recreating an old childhood feeling I thought I had completely forgotten. It crops up whenever you did something wrong and feel super guilty, but all you ever wanted was to hang out with friends. Like when I lied to my parents about where I was going or how long I was gonna stay out. I feel for Sette a whole lot right now.
