This was an appropriately harrowing scene. The burns on Vienne are horrific-looking. With that being said, it wasn't clear to me at all these were supposed to be metaphorical creatures rather than some hideous torture-construct until I read the comments.

I just looked up her design, it's pretty rad. She looks like she'd be at home in a Del Toro movie. For the muck trio, I was mostly going for what their voices would have conjured forth in Uaid and Matty's imaginations: the darkness of Matty's new blindness, biting teeth come to hurt, male violence perverting a sacred space, bloody mouths savouring mom's blood.

This is only the second creation I've seen that has teeth as such a prominent aspect. Shadowrun: Hong Kong had a demon king called "The Queen of a Thousand Teeth" or some such. (I looked up a LP to recall the specific art, and your comic is more disturbingly detailed.) If I can ask, what, if anything, helped inspire the Muck/Teeth/Mouth trio?
